A part of the Primal Matter Project.

 

Bibliotheca Chemica Curiosa’s is one of the foundational parts of the Primal Matter project. The installations displays an impossible extraction, and the quest for the transformation of the ash material produced by the fire of the National Museum of Rio de Janeiro.

In an alchemical laboratory, the ash material undergoes a distillation and produced a hydrolat.

The glass alembic, one of the main features of the installation, was realized with the assistance of the Biomolecules Laboratory of the Chemistry Department of the National Superior School of Paris.
